Chirp-Alert High Voltage Device
The Chirp-Alert device is connected to 3 sensors which are fitted over each phase (cable cone style) or attached to the bus work (buss coupler style) of the input phases. The buss style is required for higher voltage applications. The combination of brightly flashing neon lights and distinctive “Chirp” sound, alert maintenance and operation personnel to the presence of high voltage.
Apart from the obvious safety advantages, the Chirp-Alert can also save time by indicating the loss of high voltage to the equipment.
Applications
There are two style of systems: Cone Style (2300 VAC – 15,000 VAC) and Buss Style (7200 VAC – 27,000 VAC) working on 3 Phase AC Systems. Application uses: switch houses, power centers, high voltage starters, rectifiers, high voltage machines.
- Self Contained: Does not require separate power supply, transformer, or batteries.
- Simple: Readily incorporated into new equipment and easily retrofitted to existing equipment.
- Comprehensive: Responds to phase to ground voltages on each 3 phases.
- Effective & Economic: Can be applied in circuit locations where alternative indicators would be impractical or too costly.
- Reliable: No adjustment or calibration required, low maintenance.
