At this year’s Ugol Rossii & Mining Show, the Becker Mining Systems Group presented both well-known and new equipment. The latest product of the Becker Group is the all new automation system of the new generation Promos 4.0. It will replace the current Promos system which is well-known to miners all over the world: Mincos (Promos Plus and Betacontrol).
The Promos 4.0 system has been established on a modern electronic basis, its functions allow executing and even anticipating highest requirements of the customers. In the system, digital transmission of voice messages is used, which allows the length of the line to be significantly increased – up to 6 km. Thanks to the reduction of current device consumption, it is possible to connect up to 100 devices to the control bus. All elements of the system have an increased level of protection against external factors IP65, and if required, protection against external environmental influences can be raised even further. The speed of data transmission has been significantly increased for the new product generation and is now at 500kbit/s. In comparison, the current system is running at 19,2 kbit/s. Peripheral devices can be equipped with up to two sensors, increasing the functionality of the equipment. Emergency pull rope switches (PRS) control not only the tension of the safety rope but also its continuity thanks to the pretensioning function.
RFID tag readers integrated in each intercom system enable the integration of the automation system with the personnel location system (Tagging & Tracking). Each intercom system also has a function to automatically adjust the volume depending on the outside noise level. Special algorithms of sound processing make it possible to reliably detect and filter sounds. All this, and a 20 dB increase in the overall volume, guarantee that voice communication between the participants in the system takes place at any external noise level. Within the system, there is a function for address calls both between separate intercoms and groups of subscribers and with subscribers of other communication systems, including above ground systems. The use of pluggable connections with Becker Mining devices, which have proven themselves well in the Mincos system, will enable the conduction of fast and error-free connections for the elements of Promos 4.0.
In order to receive high-quality video information regarding the work of technical equipment, the BWKO video camera can be used both in Becker automation systems and independent of them. High light-sensitivity of the video camera, high quality optics and a large number of possible individualization modifications will allow any consumer to receive their desired video information regarding work of mining equipment in real time.
The compact design of the new CS4004-L type has been of great interest to the power engineering teams of various mining companies. The equipment of the new flameproof Endis 4.0 generation makes it possible to meet all consumer requirements
- fast and reliable measurement of the current operating voltage, use of different voltage levels in a single device, archiving and transmission of the collected data directly to the surface, display of technical documentation (operating instructions, power supply plans) and visualisation of technical processes on a 15-inch flameproof touch screen as well as power supply of up to 48 consumers from one single CS4000 device. Other highlights include electrically powered drives for rolling in and out the contactor modules and the use of a new type of pluggable connection, which guarantee the ability to work under difficult conditions with high vibrations, humidity, and dust.
Tasks of safety of personnel working in the area of motorised vehicles are solved with the help of proximity detection systems for personnel and vehicles PDS1d. The system is built on the base of a flameproof controller which processes signals from antennas mounted on the vehicle. In order to detect personnel in an accurate and timely way, three types of antennas are used at the same time: electromagnetic, radar, and UHF. Sharing antennas ensures that the PDS1d system detects the possibility of people entering a danger area near vehicles in a timely manner and takes measures to prevent a dangerous situation for these people, including stopping the vehicle.
The latest developments in communications are represented by the underground radio communication system SmartCom, which provides the mine personnel with a high-quality mobile connection and enables the location of people and vehicles. The SmartCom Wi-Fi system can be used independently or integrated into the Becker automation system.
For the first time at the Ugol Rossii & Mining exhibition elements of the mechanized longwall complex MineSupport were shown. On display were a powered roof support shield of 11 t and a conveyor pan, both produced by Becker Warkop (Poland). The compact design, a large contact surface with the roof, and the various control possibilities of the roof support guarantee the correct and economical operation of the brace and the comfortable passage in front of the supports for the miners.
Auxiliary mining equipment was shown with examples of high quality hoists by Becker Mining Systems‘ partner, KITO® Group and its german subsidiary KITO® Europe GmbH.
Becker Mining Systems® Rus thanks the visitors of the exhibition for the great interest in their booth.
We look forward to seeing you at the exhibition Ugol Rossii & Mining 2019!
